I have a Snap-On electric pressure washer I've owned since 2004 and it has been having intermittent issues not starting and blowing the breaker. I took it apart to inspect it and saw it had a capacitor which I figured was to help start it similar to my home heater and a/c units. I replaced the capacitor in those for the same reason where they would not start-up so I thought I would try it on my pressure washer.

The capacitor in the pressure washer had info printed on the case that I was able to match to this one as a possible replacement as all the specs matched. Since the capacitor was fairly cheap I thought I would give it a try before I went and purchased a new pressure washer. Swapping in the new one was straight forward and once I had the unit back together I plugged it in and it sprung back to life. I tested to see if it would continue to work and was able to wash 2 cars without an issue.

This part saved me from buying a new pressure washer and sending another item to the dump.

Fair warning if you have never replaced a capacitor before be sure to discharge them by disconnecting them from power and grounding all terminals coming from the capacitor to each out using an insulated screwdriver. A charged capacitor holds a lot of energy and you do not want to accidentally discharge it by touching it to your body.
My ten-year-old portable air compressor was struggling to start. It behaved as though I was using molasses to lubricate it instead of oil. After replacing the start-up capacitor, which took less than 20 minutes. my compressor starts like it was new. While the replacement capacitor was slightly longer than the original, there was enough extra clearance in the shroud covering the electrical components so that it didn't matter.
My compressor was starting to not start up properly. Tested the capacitor and it was about 50uf off so figured I'd try this one. Seems to work great, no issues starting now. It is maybe 3/16" longer but bending the tabs down a bit allowed the cover to fit. Good price and got it quickly.
Wow AC quit in the middle of the heat wave. Saved a few hundred by replacing the run cap. myself. You can find videos on utube. Also replaced the start relay and hard start cap. Works even better now. Have to keep track of the warranty.
If you're air conditioner is short cycling, it might be your capacitor(s). My unit has 3, this was one of them. I replaced all 3 for about $40 and 5 minutes of work.

Short cycling could be a symptom of another problem, but in my case I just needed new capacitors. I'm so glad I didn't end up spending hundreds of dollars to have a company come out and do this job.

If you replace yours, be sure you know how to discharge the old capacitors first. There are lots of YouTube videos that will show you just what to do.

Measurements from an LCR meter, for 340-408uF cap:

At 120 Hz: C=365uF Q=24
At 1000Hz: C=346uF Q=8

The above Q values are consistent with this being a bipolar electrolytic cap, as are the dimensions of the cap.
(For a polypropylene cap, the Q values would be in the hundreds.)
Worked fine so far, wont know how long it lasts but for a quick fix it is definitely hard to beat this price. Will be ordering a name brand one as a backup just in case but have no complaints. Was a direct replacement
Sears brand 3.5 gallon compressor would not start only humm on start up, Sears wanted $36.00 for the capacitor, this was $11.00 works fine a perfect fit and match to bring it back to life
I got these as a replacement for my 5 hp Baldor motor on an air compressor. They were smaller than the OEM. But same specifications. A little wrap with rubber him to hold them in place and they work just fine. We’ll see how long they last.
Used it to replace a defective capacitor on my home air conditioning compressor. Works great, house is cool again. Good price, fast delivery.
