I gave 4 stars for easy install... Requires a healthy fear of electricity, soldering iron or crimping tool, and the patience to watch some YouTube videos.
I thought I was going to have to replace the whole fan, or pay an electrician $$$ to figure out what was wrong. This made it like new again.
Fan had one weird speed, slower than low. Electrically tested as if shorted out, never completely off. Would not start on other speeds, or stop... Just creep super slow. Oh, and the smell. It smelled like danger, or death, or both.
My fan was a harbor breeze (Lowes brand). Match the farad specs, and splice the wires. Good to go. Use plenty of shrink tubing or electrical tape.
GREAT fix, It saved me from spending over $100 for new be living room fan that is about 15 yrs old.
PLEASE forl all that you love if your fan stops spinning turn it off at the wall until you figure out what's wrong with it even if the lights is work.
My old capacitor had actually bursted, overheated and started smoking while I was pulling the chain to get it going, I had no idea this could happen.
When I disassembled it parts of it were melted and glued to the light housing.
Take pictures of your old one and get one with the same numbers and markings on it, that's what worked for me.
Worth the money. A couple of our ceiling fans were really slow at the highest setting. I used wire cutters to remove the old capacitor. Stripped the wire ends and used wire nuts to put the new one in. It's like we have brand new fans again!
These were the perfect replacement part to give new life to two of our ceiling fans! Saved a lot of money by repairing instead of replacing! Thanks.

After getting multiple quotes from multiple AC repair guys, I decided to tackle the project myself.... I pulled apart my AC on one of the hottest days a year.... 15 minutes and a short youtube video later, found out hear got out quite often and are considered a wear item. Bought this one on Amazon, got it the next day first thing in the morning (Saturday) and I had my AC up and running perfectly in 15 minutes.

I ordered. Asecond one as a backup because they are so cheap and saved me the 120-200$ aC repair fee.

It installed with. A flat head screwdriver, and only took so long because my powerbox is in the basement.... If it was nearby or if I had some help, I would have been done in <5 minutes.
Ac quit cooling, ordered this and it fixed it. House is cool again. Can't believe we sweated out the end of last summer when we could've fixed it for 8 bucks.

As the title says, this motor was an exact replacement to the original motor. The electrical leads were plenty long enough to reach the control box. One of the screw posts was bent during shipping. But, it was able to be straightened.
I am so happy this motor works like wonders ...it arrived earlier than expected and we installed within an hour ...even the HVAC technicians doesnt have any in stock. I was afraid i am getting a lemon and will melt for days during heat wave. Thank you.
I am not an HVAC guy, but the motor would get hot and seize up. Changed for the new one in 20 minutes . Everything is working fine now.

It is really pointless note but caps are rarely have very accurate value, and does not need to be. +/-20% would be perfectly fine.

It is just interesting that I've measured values of only 1 or 2 % off. This is beyond need but maybe an indication of tight manufacturing quality process control.

It is shorter than original/old cap with exactly the same specs. Diameter is the same though.

Working fine, no issues at all. Previous cap lasted about 7 years. Will see about this one.
Arrived in less than 24 hours and fixed our A/C problem. Neither fan or compressor was running. I spun the fan by hand and it ran, so I figured it might be the starter capacitor. Installed in about five minutes. Had to wrap some electrical tape around the body since it's a little thinner than the original, and the clamp didn't hold it tightly. My wife was very happy, and I'm her hero. I'm sure it saved quite a bit over a service call.
The fan on my a/c unit stopped spinning, but I could hear the motor buzzing, as if it wanted to spin. My furnace/blower was working, but no cool air because the unit was not working. After all of the connections were in place and the electricity was flowing, we turned the thermostat on and the unit kicked in - just like new!!! Within a matter of minutes, the upstairs began cooling down. Maybe the best purchase I’ve ever made, especially since it was the hottest weekend on record in LA! This was a big DIY Win!!!

Motor arrived on time (prime 2-day) and had all features / specs advertised. Central A/C condenser fan has been running great for over a month.
My original A.O. Smith 220V AC motor was on fire inside the heater housing. I replaced another A.O. Smith motor but it didn't last long either. I search and found this Fasco motor from Amazon. I read the specification is the same as my A.O. Smith motor but cost less and have better performance ratings. I ordered one to replace my A.O. Smith motor. It runs cooler and quieter than the A.O. Smith motor. I set it at the 1/2hp full speed. With the additional ordered capacitor, this motor started without a hum at full speed. Fasco makes this motor more reliable and safer than the A.O. Smith. At less I don't have to worry this motor over load and on fire inside the heater housing.

It made the fan motor and the overall unit work better than it has in years. If your fan on the unit isn't spinning great or you need to give the fan a push to get it to spin up this is what you need. It will get your old AC unit back in business.
If you outside heat pump unit fan is not turning try replacing the capacitor. Be sure of the size in micro farad's and voltage by looking on the old capacitor or at the schematic diagram on the inside cover. Also know how to handle charged capacitors as it can KILL you if you don't. Be safe! For my needs this works perfectly.
Worked perfectly for my air conditioning unit. I've had it for several months now and I've used my air conditioner for awhile since I had to replace my old one with this one as I googled around and read this could be the reason why my unit doesn't turn on. The product is a bit thinner then then my old one so I had to drill another hole into the metal strap to keep in place. This saved me a call to my air conditioner mechanic and money.

Maybe just me, but while it's listed as exactly what I took out of the broken fan, it just does not start with the same vigor as it used to. Before it was vroom - off to full power. now it's more whaah, whaah, whaah going ...
I'll keep it, as at least the fan is working again, but it seems to not deliver the same power as the old one did.
this capacitor is way to large for a 24 inch fan and will not fit inside the housing unit
might be a fit for a air conditioner or a refrigerator but not sure.
I think these things should have a specific model number that is clearly marked on the item so that Everyone can get the one they need.
The capacitor on my Austin Air HM400 air cleaner went out after 5 yrs. This capacitor works as a perfect replacement. Only took 30 minutes to disassemble the appliance, install the cap & screw everything back together. Extremely satisfied thus far.
Fan was not changing speeds, made it like new again, downfall is waiting over a month for it to come to America
