Wiring for my Emerson this unit replaced was 3-wire, while this comes with 4-wire. As previously mentioned in another review, this is cake if you cut and cap the brown/white and 3-wire it. Black to one side of the contactor, yellow to the other (which is jumped to capacitor), and brown to fan lead on capacitor.

This took me all of 15 or so minutes to replace and was up and running (had to terminate the yellow and black ends) quickly and quietly.

One thing I'll note for others, PLEASE take a look at your faulty motor's RPM. Don't think 'upgrading' to a 1075rpm is going to improve things with a fan designed for an 825rpm motor, it will do nothing but cause issues for you. Match the horsepower rating with your current motor's RPM and get back up and running quickly!

Good luck!
Purchased this motor as a replacement for the one on a Trane unit. The shaft is very long but the hp, rpm and price were right. The old fan had no switching wires for the direction, so I had to make a pipe to slide these wires in, to shield them from the weather. The mounting was different as well so I did have to drill holes in the existing mounting panel for the studs.
The wires on this motor look very heavy but they are only about 16 gauge. The sheath is very thick so gives the appearance of a 10 gauge wire. The other confusing part is that it has a black, brown, brown/white and a yellow wire coming out. The two brown wires have spade terminals and the black and yellow have no ends. The old motor has only 3 wires on it. After searching online, I found a video that explained the yellow and brown with white stripe, are connected to eachother, so either can be used for power. I had a dual run capacitor so I left that in place and made this a 3 wire connection like I had before. Yellow to one side of the capacitor and the brown to the other. The black wire goes to the fan switching terminal on the control board. The brown/white wire gets cut off and capped. You could also use the brown and brown/white wires on the cap, and cut/cap the yellow if you wanted to, since the yellow and brown/white wires are connected.
If you choose to use a separate cap for the fan motor alone, the all 4 wires are used. Brown and brown/white go on the two terminals of the cap, then the yellow goes to the contactor, to supply power to the capacitor. The black wire still goes down to the board to turn the fan on.
The motor works well and is very smooth. The end plates are sealed and there is a rubber seal on the shaft side as well. It’s only been installed a couple of weeks so far, so can’t speak to longevity, but I don’t expect there to be any issues. The motor was purchased for my neighbor and I installed it. I have the same unit, so bought another one of these to have on hand when mine needs to be replaced.
It was a great, generic fan motor. What else can I say. It was relatively inexpensive. It arrived quickly. It fit exactly like is was supposed to. I works perfectly. It installed easily. It runs relatively quietly. Oh, and again, it works, which is more than I can say for the 20 year old motor that had finally died. So, now my A/C works, I'm happy, and it didn't break the bank. Seems like a good quality motor and I'm very satisfied. Thanks!

(Oh, it was spinning the wrong way when I first hooked it up, but it has a plug on the side that you can simply reverse. Took all of 5 minutes or less to correct. So I guess it will work whichever way you need it to turn.)
Exact replacement. Good motor.
Do not buy. Very cheap product. I bought this and it ran well for a few days after that it started running very loudly. The sound that it makes is comparable to nails on a chalkboard every time it runs for the duration that it’s running. Broadocean The company selling this product will just give you the runaround and not refund you.
