This absolutely works and beats the heck out of buying a new fan or paying an electrician to come out and fix the fan. But BE SURE to keep your old capacitor for wire color reference. I (meaning my wife) must have thrown the old one away. The wire colors for my project were completely different and I had to pull apart another fan in another room to figure out what ever it was, like purple goes to yellow, red goes to white, etc. Otherwise, super low cost fix that works.
Fan suddenly only had high speed. Tried replacing the fan switch first, but no change. Tried this next, problem solved. Snipped wires off the old one, used connectors to twist together, with some tape for good measure. The colors were very hard to tell on the old one, so ended up just connecting in the same order.
This replacement capacitor works fine even though the microfarad ratings were slightly different than the original. All speeds work fine and I couldn"t be happier as it saved me from buying a new fan! Good idea to take notes or picture of wiring so as to know how to wire up the new capacitor. The wire colors are different than the original.
I have these fans throughout my home, a few are slow starting or humming slightly, these capacitors will do the trick! Fans are about 20 years old but in great condition and I installed light kits on all of them 16 years ago when I moved in.
Arrived early, fit exactly, great dollar value and fixed the problem. What more could you ask for?

Good quality part. Easy to install watching wire colors, and works just fine. Good Company to deal with.
Haven’t tested it yet but everything is installed. Don’t expect the colors to match up to your old one.
Read the side of the capacitor to match up the correct wire color to your old one.
Worked like a charm. If you have to push the blades to get your ceiling fan going 9xbox out of 10 it's the capacitor
